Awards for Excellence and Community Outreach

Brazos Valley Astronomy Club members received awards for astronomy projects and for their volunteer work in the community.

Night Sky Network awards and pins were given to Brazos Valley Astronomy Club members who performed outreach services for the community by providing astronomy related activities in community settings, summer camps, and school environments.

Randy Light, M.D., won every contest he entered in the 2019 Texas Star Party. Dr. Light came home with a People's Choice Award for his image of the Milky Way and an astrophotography award for his lunar eclipse image.

2019 Texas Star Party

Several members of the Brazos Valley Astronomy Club attended the 2019 Texas Star Party. Dr. Randy Light entered two of his images and won top awards for both entries.
